Heriz is a region where great tough carpets, rugs and runners were made during the late 19th Century to early 20th Century. After the 1920's Heriz carpets were made predominately using chemical dyes and now appear garish in comparison to vegetable dyes that are now 100 years old and have mellowed beautifully.
