Professional cleaning of an oriental rug is recommended every 7 to 10 years, mainly to remove the grit
and dust which inevitably ends up at the bottom of the pile. Modern vacuum hoovers do a fabulous job
of removing surface dust, but you can be certain that if you were to take your rug outside and beat
it with an old fashioned cane carpet beater that more dust would emerge!
Following the intensive dust removal, the surface of the rug must be cleaned with a very mild shampoo. All work is carried out by hand.
If you spill something on your carpet in most instances it can be removed, but please do not try anything other than water to clean any stains. Our advise is to blot as much of the stain out as possible, you should use clean absorbent paper on each application and do not be afraid to use a lot of pressure.
If the stain has left a mark or it went unnoticed until it had dried, please do nothing more than contact us, we will be happy to help.
